The American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on the 4th of September 1981. She first earned fame as the lead voice in the female pop group Destiny's Child in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She released her first solo album "Dangerously in Love" in 2003, which quickly became one of the most successful albums of the year. She followed this success by her second solo album "B'Day" in 2006. Later, in 2008 she released her third solo album "I Am Sasha Fierce," for which she earned six Grammy Awards in 2010, breaking the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in one night. In 2011 she came out with her fourth solo album "4," earning her critical acclaim across the board. "4" was on many top publications year-end lists for best albums of the year. Beyoncé launched her acting career in 2001 with the musical film "Carmen: A Hip Hopera" followed by "Austin Powers in Goldmember" (2002), "Dreamgirls" (2006) for which she got two Golden Globe nominations, "Cadillac Records" (2008) and "Obsessed" (2009). In 2009, Billboard named her the Top Radio Songs Artist of the 2000s decade and ranked her as the fourth overall Artist of the Decade. Also in June 2010, she was ranked first on "Forbes" list of the 100 Most Powerful and Influential musicians in the world. Beyoncé is married to rapper extraordinaire Jay-Z. Their first child, Blue Ivy, was born in January 2012.
