As Hanan flees with her two children, Yassin and Farah, she has men bring her husband's boat from Alexandria to Damietta after his brother Saleh seized it after his death. Saleh files a report against Hanan, accusing her of stealing the boat.

Hanan fails to find a crew for the boat despite painting it and changing its features, and she pays money to forge an ID card and papers for her children so that her son can enter school, then some men agree to work on her boat and they take off.

Hanan tries to handle the difficulties of dealing with the crew on the boat, and she succeeds in fishing. The school refuses to give Saleh information about the transfer of Yassin because he is not his guardian. Saleh tells his fiancée Mona that the boat has been stolen.

Sanaa, Hanan's sister, rides a train to Damietta, and Saleh's spy sees her, so Saleh follows her, but she manages to lose him and reach Hanan, who is forced to leave the apartment because she does not have an ID.

Hanan tries to sell shrimp to restaurants and Sayed the merchant stands in her way, but she finds other customers. As Sanaa convinces Zakaria to return Hanan to the apartment, she is arrested after returning to Alexandria because of a false testimony against her from one of Saleh's men.

Hanan travels to Alexandria to acquit Sanaa, but she discovers Ibrahim and Saleh's agreement to bring her to him so that he knows the location of the boat, so she makes the false witness tell the truth and exonerate Sanaa. Hanan returns to Damietta before Saleh finds her.

Sanaa discovers Ibrahim's agreement with Saleh against Hanan, so she fights with him. A crew member tries to harass Hanan during a fishing trip, but she threatens him. Then she is transferred to the hospital due to a leg injury.

Sayed lowers his shrimp prices so that no one will buy from Hanan and prevents ice factories from selling her, so that what they caught will perish. Saleh threatens Ibrahim to harm Sanaa if he does not tell him about Hanan's whereabouts. Mona's mother learns about the loss of Saleh's boat.

Hanan searches for a source of livelihood after the sailors leave, so she borrows money from a man to return it with interest. Rabie helps her get the sailors back to work. Attia, the children's grandfather, is transferred to the hospital after a stroke, and Mona breaks up her engagement to Saleh.

Hanan partners with a woman to open up a seafood restaurant, and her business flourishes. She quarrels with Yassin, so he flees and boards the Alexandria train. He is about to go with his uncle, but Ibrahim intervenes and returns him to his mother.

Hanan's acquaintances attend the opening of her restaurant. Attia's condition worsens and Saleh learns about the mother's guardianship after the death of the grandfather. Hanan accidentally stabs Hamdy as he tries to assault her, so he agrees not to report her in return for half of the boat's revenue.

Hanan agrees with a restaurant owner to supply him, so she makes a deal with another boat owner and shares the money with him. Hamdy shares the boat's revenue with Hanan 50/50, and they accuse Eid of stealing two barrels of fish. Then Hanan discovers that the thief is Shenhaby, and Attia dies.

Hanan returns to Alexandria to take custody of her children, so Saleh stands before her in court and submits the report filed against her for the theft of the boat. Saleh brings his men to seize the boat, but Hanan, Hamdy and Rabie resist them, and Rabie is killed.

Saleh threatens Shaaban, who forged Hanan's ID so that he would tell him her address, and Hanan goes on a fishing trip to pay Shaaban's fees, and she seeks the help of fishermen to escape from Saleh who is watching the port. Sayed decides to unite with Saleh against Hanan.

Hanan finds the men of the port, Sayed, and Saleh accusing her of indecent behavior, then the boat burns down. When Hanan and her children attempt to travel to Suez, she is arrested on charges of stealing the boat, and she is sentenced to one year in prison.
