Biography

An Egyptian swimming champion who was born on January 7, 1911, in Cairo, and nicknamed the Nile Crocodile Tamer. He's considered one of the Arab swimming pioneers who crossed the English Channel. He received several sports honors, including the Sports Medal in 1955 and the Order...Read more of Merit in 1974. He appeared in many films, most notably Madmen in Paradise (1963) and Warm Winter Night (1981). He passed away on January 12, 1997.
