Biography

An Egyptian writer, who is considered one of the most important story writers in Egypt. He was the son of the scholar Ahmed Taymour, the brother of the writer Muhammad Taymour, and his aunt was Aisha Taymour. He issued many books, such as Hajj Shalaby (1930). He also wrote long...Read more romance novels, such as The Call of the Unknown (1939), and Cleopatra in Khan El Khalili (1945), and history-inspired plays, such as Today We Drink (1956). Many of his stories were translated into foreign languages. He was a member of the Linguistic Society, and the Egyptian State honored him with its appreciation award in 1963.
