Biography

An Egyptian make-up artist, born in 1923, in Cairo. He is considered one of the oldest makeup artists in Egypt. The American director Cecil deMille hired him in his movie The Ten Commandments, which a large part of it was filmed in Egypt. Hamdi practiced his craft as an...Read more anatomist with great knowledge of the location and function of the muscles in the face and body, and the shape of the skulls of the head and others. He is considered the first to design a bald head with a high craftsmanship on the Egyptian screen, using plastics in the manufacture of the (bonnet) of the head. He made it for Fouad El Mohandes in the character of Mr. X, and Hussein Fahmy in the movie The Prince. Among the designs made by Mohamed Awad’s Face in the movie Eve and the Monkey. Among his films are: Dreams of Hind and Camilia, The Shame and Stray Light.
