Their marriage continued for a period of 11 years during which he directed several films which featured his wife in leading roles. Some of the films were among the best in the history of Egyptian cinema and they included Al-Karnak, Shafiqa and Metwally and The Love that Was in addition to The Shepherd and the Women, which was So’ad’s last film and was made after their divorce.
