Albert Kosairy was born on November 3, 1913 in the Faggala district of Cairo to Egyptian parents of Levantine origins. His family was well-off, as his father was a property owner....Read more Albert was educated in Christian religious schools before moving to the French Jesuit school, where he read to Balzac, Molière, Victor Hugo, Voltaire and other great classic French writers. He visited France for the first time when he was seventeen years old before deciding to settle there in 1945. Albert Kosairy began writing at the age of ten, and his works have been translated into 15 languages, including Arabic. Albert Kosairy died on June 22, 2008 at the age of 94 in his room at the La Louisiane Hotel, after he wrote 8 novels and short stories.
