She became known for the movie, The Winds of the Aures (1966) directed by Mohamed Al-Akhdar Hamina, which won her the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Festival in 1966. She performed the role of Amina in Naguib Mahfouz trilogy, Al- Sokkareya. She worked in 70 plays and 20 films, in addition to many television roles. Her last work was the play The Watchers in 1991.
