A Iraqi writer, born in 1924 in Baghdad. He graduated from the Iraqi College of Law in 1949. He worked as a lawyer for a short period, then joined official positions. He was a legal advisor in the Directorate of Public Prosperity in the Ministry of Finance. Then he became the...Read more general director of Culture in the Ministry of Culture and Information, and then a specialized educational supervisor in the Ministry of Education. He retired in 1979. His collections of poetry: From the Flames of Struggle in 1958, Shamso in 1952, Al-Aswar ( The Fences) in 1956 and Al-Zaytouna (The Olive) in 1968. Many studies have been written about him in Arab and Iraqi newspapers and magazines, as well as a study of his poetry for which he obtained a master's degree. Additionally chapters have been written about him in academic books for a number of university professors in Iraq dealing with his theatrical poetry. He died after a struggle with illness on January 25, 2012.
