Biography
A Syrian film director, who studied architecture at the University of Damascus before heading to Moscow to study cinema at the VGIK. He has worked since that time at the General Film Organization in Damascus. He wrote and directed two feature films: Under the Roof (2005) and...Read more Rodage (2010), which premiered at the Abu Dhabi Festival International Film Festival. He also has a long documentary film: Black Stone (2006). He is considered among the new generation in Syrian cinema, despite his relatively old age compared to his fellow young directors in the Organization. He was dismissed him from work as a staff member in the General Film Organization due to his support of the Syrian revolution. He participated as a jury member in more than one Arab film festival and event, including the 2012 Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival.
