An Egyptian author and writer, who was born in the city of Suez on August 28, 1911 and grew up in a noble family. He joined the Faculty of Arts and became one of...Read more the literary and intellectual figures. He joined the Department of History and graduated in 1934. He worked as a French -Arabic translator at the Credit Bank, and during this period, he participated with a group of his colleagues informing a committee called the “University Committee for the Dissemination of Science.” He translated a chapter on Spain and Portugal in the book, Islamic Heritage, and during this period, he published his first historical book The Islamic East in the Modern Era. Then, he obtained a master's degree with a thesis entitled "The Arab Conquest of Morocco" in 1937. When the Second World War ended, he returned to Egypt in 1945 and was appointed as a teacher in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts. In addition to his work at the university, he was delegated by the Ministry of Education in 1955. He passed away on March 17, 1996.
