Biography

An Egyptian theater director and a pioneer in the art of puppet animation from Aga Center. He was born on March 11, 1932. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, and worked as a lawyer for a period of no more than a year. He joined a training course to teach...Read more puppetry at the hands of expert Sergey Orazov, The spiritual father of puppet artists in the world. He traveled to Romania to obtain from there a diploma in theater directing and specializing in puppetry. He then returned to Egypt to obtain a master’s degree from the Film Institute, directing department in 1969. He presented dozens of artworks, in the sixties he presented the most important shows Alellah Alkebera , the words of the great poet Gaheen, composed by Sayed Mekkawi. He contributed to the establishment of puppet theaters in some other Arab countries, such as Syria, Kuwait, Qatar, Tunisia, and Iraq. He married Nadia, the daughter of the artist Abdo Al-Srouji and had Fatima and Ahmed. Ahmed became an important movie star. Salah died on the morning of Saturday, September 25, 2010, from heart and kidney failure.
