• A Tunisian film director, born on May 17, 1943. He studied in Paris at the Higher Institute of Film Studies, the Open Film Institute, and the Sorbonne University, then he moved to...Read more Rome, where he studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. He directed several short films, including Show 5000 (1968) and Prenons la ville (1973) before directing his first feature film in 1975, which he wrote under the title The Ambassadors, which enabled him to receive the Golden Tanit Award at the Carthage Film Festival in 1976. In 1981, he served as the first assistant to Steven Spielberg when he filmed scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark in Tunisia. He directed his second film, Sweet and Sour, which won the Bronze Tanit at the Carthage Festival in 2000. He also produced some films.
