An Egyptian director, born in 1916. He worked on the Egyptian Radio in Alexandria until 1945 then moved to Cairo. He held many positions including Head of Music and Songs at the Egyptian Radio. He traveled to Germany to train for the first Egyptian Television broadcast, and on 23...Read more July 1960, he directed the first TV broadcast in Egypt. Afterwards, he became a news anchor and then shifted to directing outdoor broadcasts. He directed two successful programs at the time including "Cairo Nights" and "Amateurs". In 1962, he founded the TV and Radio Institute and was its president. He died in 1996.
