A writer, producer, and director, who also worked for many years as a video game designer, most notably on the 2006 video game Prey. His most famous work as a writer includes The Book of Eli (2010), After Earth (2013), and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016). He also directed and produced the series Animal Talking with Gary Whitta (2020).

Gary Whitta is an English author and screenwriter who was born on the 21st of July, 1972. Whitta is a video game enthusiast and is a renowned figure in the world of video games journalism as he was formerly editor-in-chief of the American and British editions of the magazine PC Gamer. Whitta has done screenwriting for “Star Trek: Voyager” and “Futurama” in addition to the recent Hollywood picture “The Book of Eli”. Aside from his efforts as a film screenwriter, Whitta has also has provided consultation for game projects and has done a certain amount of comic-book writing.
