Indian actor and screenwriter, born on November 12, 1937 to a family of Pakistani origin. He worked a university professor in the College of Engineering. His beginning in acting was surprising, as the legend Dilip Kumar was playing a role on the stage of the College of...Read more Engineering on its annual anniversary. Dilip was impressed by his acting and agreed with him on his first movie in cinema Daag: A Poem of Love (1973). After that, he worked in Bollywood, with more than 300 films in Hindi and Urdu. He wrote dialogues for more than 1,000 films and contributed to the success of Amitabh Bachchan as he wrote dialogues for some of his very successful films in the box office, such as Amar Akbar Anthony (1977). He received an award from the American Federation of Indian Muslims (AFMI) for his services to the Muslim community in India. He won several Filmfare Awards and Screen Award. He passed away on December 31, 2018.
