Phillip Noyce is an Australian film director that was born in Griffith, New South Wales, Australia on the 29th of April, 1950. Noyce attended Barker College in Sydney and began making short films when he was 18 using his friends as cast members. He later joined the Australian...Read more Film & Television School in 1973 and shot his first film as a professional in 1977. Soon afterwards, Noyce attained commercial and critical success with Newsfront, and won the Australian Film Institute awards for Best Film, Screenplay and Director for that effort. Since then, Noyce has been involved in the making of several cinema and television series in Australia and the United States. His film The Quiet American was nominated for an Academy Award. Moreover he has also won the Australian Film Institute award.
