American actor Ving Rhames (born Irving Rameses Rhames) was born in New York City in 1959. He grew up in Harlem and discovered acting as a student at New York’s High School for the Performing Arts. Rhames went on to study drama at SUNY Purchase and then transferred to Juliard’s...Read more Drama Division, where he received a B.A. degree in Fine Arts in 1983. Following graduation, Rhames appeared on Broadway in “Boys of Winter” (1984), and several television series including “Miami Vice” before co-starring in his first film, “People Under the Sun” (1991), horror movie by Wes Craven. Rhames has since starred in various films and television series, though he is best known for his role as Marsellus Wallace in “Pulp Fiction” (1994), as Don King in “Don King: Only in America” (1997), and as Luther Stickell in the “Mission Impossible” series (1996, 2000, 2006, 2011). His other films include: “Baby Boy” (2001), “Dawn of the Dead” (2004), “The Bridge to Nowhere” (2009), and “Won’t Back Down” (2012).
