Nick Nolte is an American actor and a three-time Oscar nominee for leading roles in "The Prince of Tides" (1991), "Affliction" (1997) and a supporting role in "Warrior" (2011). He's also well known for his performances in "The Deep" (1977), "48 Hrs." (1982), "Cape Fear" (1991), "The Thin Red Line" (1998) and "Hulk" (2003). Nolte was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 8, 1941, and soon after high school began acting in productions at the Pasadena Playhouse. He got his breakout television role on "Rich Man, Poor Man" (1976), a popular mini-series. With his stark masculine features and husky voice, Nolte has often played demented and unstable characters. He's also long had a reputation as a heavy drinker, and while working on a 1984 film with Nolte, Katharine Hepburn accused him of falling down drunk in every gutter in town. He allegedly replied, "I've got a few to go yet." He was voted People's Sexiest Man Alive in 1992.
