Egyptian singer born Fathia Fayed Khalifa on 27 March 1931. After she was married to Abbas Fahmy, she took his name and became known as Nadia Fahmy. She started her career at the beginning of the 1950s and worked with some of the most renowned composers. She sang duets with Farid...Read more El Atrash and Abdel Halim Hafez. Her voice was used in songs as a voice-over for actresses who could not sing in several films such as People's Hearts (1954), Women's Kingdom (1955), and The Unjust Angel (1954). She died in an accident involving the City Lights concert bus while returning from Ismailia on June 10, 1959. She was survived by her three children, Azza, Afaf and Ahmed.
