Seagal moved to Japan, where he continued his training became the first foreigner to operate an Aikido dojo. With regard to film, Seagal worked on the 1987 film, “Above the Law” with director Andrew David and then directed his first film, “On Deadly Ground” in 1994. Many of Seagal’s action films have common themes such as revolving around characters with close ties to law enforcement or secret operatives, such as the CIA or Special Forces. Others include elements of his personal life, including his interest in Japanese culture and language, as well as Buddhism. Seagal has worked as a martial arts trainer and choreographer on numerous films including “A View to Kill” (1985), “Above the Law” (1988) and “Marked for Death” (1990). His many acting credits include films such as : “Under Siege” (1992), “Fire Down Below” (1997), “Out for A Kill” (2003), “Into the Sun” (2005), “Shadow Man” (2006), “Kill Switch” (2008), “Maximum Conviction” (2012), and “Force of Execution” (2013).
