An Egyptian actor, writer, director and radio presenter, born in 1910 in Sharqia Governorate. He travelled to England to study engineering. After problems caused by the script of the film Lasheen (1938), Ahmed Salem resigned from the studio and founded a new production company called "Nefertiti", through which he co-wrote, produced and directed several films, including: Son of Antr (1947), The Unknown Past (1946) and Desert Wings (1939).
