David Alan Greer is an actor, producer, and writer, born in Detroit, Michigan, United States in 1956. His mother, Aretas Ruth, was a teacher, and his father, William Henry Greer, was a psychiatrist and writer. He received an MA from Yale School of Drama. Greer began his Broadway...Read more career as Jackie Robinson in The First, which earned him a nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and won the World Theater Award in 1981. He appeared in Robert Altman's Streamers as Roger, a role that won him the Golden Lion for Best Actor in Venice Film Festival in 1983. It was called Chocolate News in 2008. He is best know for In Living Color (1994), Jumanji (1995), Astro Boy (2009), and Clifford the Big Red Dog (2021).
