In 1992, he co-founded a film production company with producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen. His credits include Melancholia (2011), The Early Years: Erik Nietzsche Part 1 (2007), and Dancer in the Dark (2000), for which he won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
