Elijah Wood is an American actor best known for playing the unlikely hero Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Wood continued to get top-billing as he developed as an actor, starring in Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm" (1997), "Deep Impact" (1998) and "The Faculty" (1998). The 2000s were landmark years for Wood. He achieved an elusive kind of franchise stardom that came with his lead role in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. After the award-winning epic trilogy wrapped, Wood became involved in a wider variety of projects, like the critically acclaimed "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (2004), "Sin City" (2005), "Everything is Illuminated" (2006), and "Bobby" (2006). He even lent his voice to a few animated projects like "Happy Feet" (2006) and its sequel, and "Robot Chicken."
