An American actress and producer, born November 22, 1961 in California. She is the granddaughter of the great American novelist Ernest Hemingway, a few months after her grandfather committed suicide. She began acting at the age of 16, in 1979, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Woody Allen's film Manhattan. She participated in the film Lipstick (1976) and won Best Supporting Actress Award and BAFTA Academy Award nominations. It was Hemingway's first role with her sister Margot in the film Lipstick (1976). The film is not considered particularly good, but she received notice for her acting and was nominated as Best Newcomer for this year's Golden Globe Award. Hemingway's most famous role was in Manhattan's Woody Allen (1979), a romantic comedy in which she played Tracy, a high school student and Allen's lover. From her works: Delirious, The Contender and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.
