Jeff Daniels is an American award-winning actor, musician and playwright. He’s perhaps best known for playing an idiot alongside Jim Carrey in the 1994 blockbuster “Dumb & Dumber,”...Read more though he’s also established in a diverse array of film and theatre roles. He founded a nonprofit theater company, the Purple Rose Theatre Company, in Michigan, where he grew up. Daniel has appeared in a number of stage productions, and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor for the Broadway play “God of Carnage” in 2009. In 2013, he won the Emmy for best actor for “Newsroom.” Daniel has also appeared in Woody Allen’s “The Purple Rose of Cairo” (1985), “Good Night, and Good Luck.” (2005), “The Squid and the Whale” (2005), the Oscar-winning “Terms of Endearment” (1983) and “Looper” (2012).
