Robards won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1976 with All the President's Men, and the following year he won the same award for Julia. Robards continued in cinema and theater and presented distinguished works such as the 1999 movie Magnolia, which was the last cinematic work before his death on December 26, 2000 at the age of 78.
