He graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of History, Cairo University in 1968, and after several years, he joined the radio in 1973, specifically at the Corner of Sudan station (currently Wadi El Nile). Imam Omar presented several...Read more programs, the most famous of which are Laughter on Air, The Winning Microphone, and Sudan Nights. He later moved to work at the Middle East Radio in 1975 and worked as a variety show host and presented the program Satellite TV Soiree with the participation of writer Salah Issa. He presented several radio programs there, including A Guest for Breakfast, and Cinema. He was appointed in 2000 as the head of the Central Radio Production Planning Network, and participated in several international events such as the Cannes Film Festival in France in addition to many Egyptian and Arab events such as the Cairo Film Festival, the Damascus Film Festival and the Carthage Festival. Imam Omar received several different awards inside and outside Egypt. He also participated in the movie Let's Dance.
