He later moved to work at the Middle East Radio in 1975 and worked as a variety show host and presented the program Satellite TV Soiree with the participation of writer Salah Issa. He presented several radio programs there, including A Guest for Breakfast, and Cinema. He was appointed in 2000 as the head of the Central Radio Production Planning Network, and participated in several international events such as the Cannes Film Festival in France in addition to many Egyptian and Arab events such as the Cairo Film Festival, the Damascus Film Festival and the Carthage Festival. Imam Omar received several different awards inside and outside Egypt. He also participated in the movie Let's Dance.
