His other works include It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) and Grease (1978). He was nominated for an Emmy Award 11 times and won it twice. He got married to Florence Cesare in 1943, they remained together until she died in 2010, and they had three children together. He died on February 12, 2014 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California.
