American actress, dancer, and singer, born on July 16, 1911, in Independence, Missouri. She traveled to New York as a singer with Paul Ash and his band, after participating with the band in Campus Sweethearts. She landed a Broadway role in 1929 and attracted critical attention....Read more As she attracted the attention of Paramount Company, which assigned her the lead role in the movie Young Man from Manhattan. She returned to Broadway and participated in the play Crazy Girl, but after signing a contract with Paramount Company, she began working in studio Astoria of the company in the day and in the evening she returns to Broadway and during these conditions full of activity she appeared in a number of films. She had a lot of requests to her to be freed from her contract with Paramount, but after canceling her contract she quickly signed with Rico. Among her most notable works are: Monkey Business (1952), and Kitty Foyle (1940). Her artistic activity continued until 1980, and after she gave up acting, she devoted herself to writing her autobiography entitled (The Story of My Life). She died on April 25, 1995 in Rancho Mirage, California, USA.
