An American comic book artist and actor who focuses on creating illustrations for mythology and fantasy literature. He was raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, and has been sketching since he was a little boy. In 1974, he received his degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He was employed as a commercial animator at Candy Apple Productions and took part in the student-run publication, Fan Free Funnies, at the time. Then he relocated to New York and started working as a freelance illustrator. In addition, he taught art at the Parsons School of Design in New York City, where he also took part in a significant fantasy art museum exhibit.
