Evan Daugherty is an American screenwriter. Inspired by a homework assignment by his professor at New York University to "take a new spin on a classic fairytale," Daugherty wrote his first feature script: Snow White and the Huntsman in 2011, which was sold to Universal Pictures for $3.2 million and was turned into a commercially successful film starring Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart. He also wrote the scripts for Killing Season (2013) and the 2014 adaptation of Divergent. He also wrote, directed and edited a short film called Rusty Forkblade, for which he won the Bronze medal for Excellence at the Park City Film Music Festival.
