Dalia Saad |
An American actor, born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on May 20, 1908. He studied architecture at Princeton University. He began his acting career in 1935, won an Academy Award for his role in The Philadelphia Story (1940). He enlisted in the US Army to fight in WWII, joinung the Air Corps, and eventually rose to the rank of brigadier general. His notable films include Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), It's a Wonderful Life (1946), Harvey (1950), Rear Window (1954), and Vertigo (1958). He received an Academy Honorary Award in 1985. In addition to his film career, Stewart acted in many television series, and published a book of poetry in 1989. He died on July 2, 1997. |
