She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Cairo University in 1948, then a master’s degree in...Read more 1952, then a doctorate in 1959 with a dissertation entitled "The Nile River in Egyptian Literature." She held the positions of Director of Arts and Literature and Director General of the Supreme Council of Culture, and taught at Al-Azhar University, the University of Tripoli in Libya, and Helwan University in Egypt. Her name was associated with issues during which she raised many battles in defense of Egypt, its civilization and its people, the most important of which were the issue of burying nuclear waste, and the Egyptian antiquities that Israel seized during its occupation of Sinai. She authored many literary works, including "Islamic Horizons," "Islam and the Modern Man," and "Cairo in My Life." She died on October 1, 2016.
