An American actor, born in the city of Sunrise Sheep, Minnesota, USA on December 26, 1914. He studied at Lake Forest College in Illinois, where he started his first acting steps, then worked on radio in New York and was able to work in Broadway theaters. As he had a hole in his ear, he was excused from military service, and he worked in cinema in secondary roles until he proved his feet in the role of the movie Kiss of Death in 1947. After that he signed a contract for Fox for a period of seven years, and after the end of his contract, he went to work on television, then produced his own films. He received a Golden Globe Award in 1947 for the movie Kiss of Death. He died on March 24, 2008 at Roxbury, Connecticut, USA.
