American actress, born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on December 11, 1931. She got married to Lenny Gordon since 1965, with whom she had one son, and she remained with him until his death in 2010. She won an Academy Award in 1962 for West Side Story and in 1961 for Best Supporting...Read more Actress. She also won a Golden Globe for the same film. She moved with her mother to New York City at the age of six. She worked in dubbed films, then joined Broadway before reaching her teenage years. She then continued her studies, and made her debut in 1950 in So Young So Bad. She continued working and worked on television and in the puppet theater. Among her most important films is West Side Story.
