He also studied voice at the Wisconsin Conservatory of music in Milwaukee and the American Conservatory in Chicago. HE started his career with minor roles and became known after Kitty Foyle (1940). He signed a contract with MGM and Paramount. He collaborated with Jack Carson in 15 films. He quitted acting and singing at the end of the 1950s and worked as a businessman. He died on September 7, 1994 (aged 85) Fresno, California, U.S.
