A Swedish actor, born in Gothenburg, Sweden. He studied the history of literature and theatre at university but considered the student theatre, in which he participated in 1966. In the 1970s, he became a member of the Dramatens theatre troupe, then a member of the artistic management of the National Theatre in 1999. He is known for his diverse roles, from comedy to drama, and was a director at the Royal Theatre in Stockholm between 1987 and 2007. His works include the films You're Out of Your Mind, Maggie (1979), Pelle the Conqueror (19870, Here Is Harold (2014), and Borg vs. McEnroe (2017).
