An American actress, born as Marie Anne Boland, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, on January 28, 1882. Mary Boland received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. She didn't marry. She is best known for her roles in The Women (1939), Pride and Prejudice (1940), Ruggles...Read more of Red Gap (1935), and People Will Talk (1935). Boland attended school at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Detroit. In 1901, she appeared on stage for the first time. Boland played the roles of mothers in the thirties and also excelled in the roles she played as a comedian. She played many dramatic roles in the movies of MGM Studios. She continued her theater work until 1954, and her film career began in 1915 when she took roles in silent films, after which she took roles in a number of talkies. She died on June 23, 1965, in New York City, New York, USA, of a heart attack.
