She studied at Highland Park High School, and practiced swimming and horseback riding, then she studied at Southern Methodist University in Dallas to become a nurse, but her practice of theater acting in college caused her to be picked up and trained to sing and dance with acting and reciting lessons. Among the most important work of Dorothy Malone: The Big Sleep (1946), Writer on the Wind (1956), Peyton Place (1964), and Basic Instinct (1992). She died on January 19, 2018 (aged 93).
