Egyptian author, born on June 1, 1932, in Akhmim, Sohag Governorate. He worked as a writer and supervisor for the cultural section of the magazines Al-Sabah, Al Zohor, and Al-Hilal. He was a member of the Supreme Council of Culture and the Board of Directors of the Writers...Read more Association. He wrote many short stories, critical studies, and intellectual works, including “Chicks Have Wings”, and "Ethiopian Well". He received the State Incentive Award in Literature from the Supreme Council of Culture in 1981 and the State’s Prize for Excellence in Literature in 2003. He died on August 7, 2009 at age 77, after a long struggle with cancer.
