She began her career working in the Pasadena Playhouse while studying at Los Angeles City College then worked in radio. She made her film debut in Macbeth (1948). She appeared in numerous television series during her career. Nolan died on June 5, 1998, in Los Angeles, California, USA, of a stroke.
