An Australian director, editor, and screenwriter who grew up in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia, and is of Maltese descent. She studied at the Sydney Theater Company and the University of Technology Sydney, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and Media Production. She began her artistic career as a film editor. In 2010, she moved from Sydney to Brooklyn, New York. She lived there for over eight years before moving to Los Angeles, California. Among the most prominent works she has directed are The Light of the Moon (2017), The Invitation (2022), Unstoppable (2018), and The End (2020).
