An Egyptian poet born in 1928 in Aswan, Egypt. He received his primary education in Nuba and joined the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University, but he did not complete his studies due to special circumstances. He participated in the establishment of the Child Culture Association...Read more in Cairo, which included a group of intellectuals and literature workers, such as Dr. Suhair Al-Qalamawi, Professor Abdel-Tawab Youssef, and Mrs. Fadela Tawfiq. He published his poems in Arab newspapers and magazines and practiced literary criticism in Al-Alam Al-Arabi, Cairo, Al-Adab, Lebanon, and other magazines. Since 1964, he turned to Sufi poetry and became known for it. He is known for several collections of poetry, such as Songs of the Battle (1956), Songs of the Marchers (1957), Swarm of Egrets (1965), and Heroes of the Word (1998). He is known for Tales and Songs on the Letters of the Alphabet. He wrote Myth and Legend in the Land of Nubia. He wrote the songs for the series Friday in the Wind.
