He is best known for He Who Gets Slapped (1924), The Phantom of the Opera (1925), The Penalty (1920), and The Unholy Three (1925). He received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960 and an OFTA Film Hall of Fame Award in 2017. Lon Chaney died on August 26, 1930, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA.
