An American actress, born in Indianola, Iowa, on April 4, 1914. Rosemary Lane was the third of the four Lane singing sisters. She began her career as a singer in the Fred Waring band with the help of her sister and bandmate, Priscilla Lane, who was the most famous of them, and...Read more with whom she appeared in the musical Varsity Show (1937). She participated with her other sister, Lola Lane, in Hollywood Hotel (1937), then the three sisters, Lola, Priscilla and Rosemary, worked in Warner Bros.' Four Daughters (1938), Daughters Courageous (1939) and Four Wives (1939). Thereafter, she left Hollywood for Broadway, where she participated in George Abbott's successful musical Best Foot Forward in 1941. In 1945, she retired, settled in Pacific Palisades, and worked for a while in real estate. Her most notable work includes The Oklahoma Kid (1939), All by Myself (1943), and Sing Me a Song of Texas (1945). She died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, on November 25, 1974.
