She worked as an assistant director with George Stevens in the movie Diary of Anne Frank (1959) and worked as theater director and as an acting coach in many films. She joined the University of Southern California and at the American Film Institute. She is the daughter of the famous composer Dirk Fock and the silent theater and film actress, Consuelo Florton. She signed a contract with Columbia Corporation at the age of 19, where she starred at Columbia Studios, training in comedy and melodrama. She made her first film, The Return of the Vampire (1943) followed by several roles. She focused on television work that she started at the end of the forties and continued until the beginning of the new millennium.
