A Czech writer and director, born in Prague, Czech Republic. He studied at the New York Film Academy, studied directing at the Directing Department of the Faculty of Arts in Prague, then obtained a master's degree in 2006. His feature film The Natural Killer of Düsseldorf in 2010 won the Best Director Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival, and his second feature film Patient of Importance in 2017 was selected for screening at the Berlin International Film Festival. He also won twenty awards in the Czech Republic and Slovakia; including the Best Director Award and Best Film. He directed the film The Glass Room in 2024, based on a novel by the writer Simon Mawer.
