In 2001, Christian Carion directed his first feature film The Girl from Paris, then he directed Joyeux Noel, which screened at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival, this historical film was a huge success and was nominated for several César Awards as well as an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year. Carion is also known for Farewell (2009) and My Son (2021).
